(3rd UPDATE) Her son Sean Ono Lennon confirms that she was rushed to the hospital for dehydration, and not a 'possible stroke' or 'serious flu,' as reported earlier

MANILA, Philippines (3rd UPDATE) – Yoko Ono was rushed to the Mount Sinai West Hospital after she was found unconscious at her Upper West Side home in Manhattan, New York City, local reports said.

The 83-year old widow of The Beatles singer-songwriter John Lennon was taken from her home in The Dakota, 72nd Street and Central Park West, at around 9:05 pm to the hospital, the FDNY (Fire Department of New York) told CBS News.

CBS New York initially reported that she suffered a possible stroke. However, Ono’s long-time publicist Elliot Mintz told Billboard that she was “suffering from dehydration.”

Her son, musician Sean Ono Lennon, also tweeted, “Hey guys it was only rumors from press: was NOT a stroke, just dehydration/tired. She is FINE. Thank you everyone for your concern.”

Earlier, Mintz refuted initial reports regarding a stroke, and told ABC News“There is no stroke and there are no life threatening circumstances as has been described to me,” Mintz said.

“To the best of my knowledge, she had symptoms along the lines of a serious flu, and her doctor thought it was best that she would get a check-up at the hospital,” he said, adding, “It’s just an advanced case of the flu.”

Mount Sinai Hospital was formerly known as St. Luke’s Roosevelt, where her husband Lennon was pronounced dead. – Rappler.com
