Film, TV industry mourns death of director Francis Xavier Pasion
Anne Curtis, Antoinette Jadaone, the cast of 'On The Wings of Love,' and more remember the director and post tributes on social media

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Members of the entertainment industry took to social media to express their sadness over the death of filmmaker Francis Xavier Pasion Sunday, March 6.

Here are just a few of the tributes being shared by his colleagues and friends in the industry, who also shared their admiration for his work and offered their condolences to his family.

Rappler movie critic Oggs Cruz posted this on Instagram: “You are one of the few filmmakers, however, who is humble enough to admit that we live in a universe of opinions and views. You’ve left a huge void, and many more stories all deserving to be told and discerned the way only you can do. You will be missed.”

Dear @francispasion, I never got to write a note in reply to yours. Prior to Luang Prabang, our conversations were limited to knowing smirks and smiles about our shared reactions to films we’ve watched and random chatter about random other things. In Laos however, I got to know more about you and what drives you as an artist, and what I got from you is impressive. I’m as thankful as you for allowing yourself to be swayed to attend the film festival despite your commitments. You have humbled this critic who is sometimes too quick to judge the sincerity of your intentions. You are one of the few filmmakers however who is humble enough to admit that we live in a universe of opinions and views. You’ve left a huge void, and many more stories all deserving to be told and discerned the way only you can do. You will be missed. – Francis “Oggs” Cruz
