Drew Barrymore, Will Kopelman to divorce

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED)– Actress Drew Barrymore and husband Will Kopelman are planning to divorce after 3 years of marriage, according to multiple reports from US entertainment outlets.

On Saturday, April 2, Drew and Will released a joint statement, published by People.

“Sadly our family is separating legally, although we do not feel this takes away from us being a family,” the couple said.

“Divorce might make one feel like a failure, but eventually you start to find grace in the idea that life goes on. 

“Our children are our universe, and we look forward to living the rest of our lives with them as the first priority.” 

People reported that Drew and Will, who have two daughters – Olive and Frankie – disagreed on where they should live. Their source said that Drew wanted to live in Los Angeles, while Will wants to be in New York.

Meanwhile a source told Page Six: “They’ve been having some difficulties, but they remain close for the sake of their kids.”

E! News also reports that Drew and Will have been living apart for a few months now.

A source told E! News said that the soon-to-be ex-couple are on good terms: “They love each other, but in a different way, and will continue to be supportive parents. They wanted to make this process as seamless as they could for their family.”

“The kids will be spending time with both Will and Drew and they plan on making this split peaceful.”

Although she had not spoken up about the divorce, Drew recently posted on Instagram a tattoo of the names of her two children.

Drew married Will in June 2012 in her home in Montecito, California. She later gave birth to their daughter Olive that year, and Frankie followed in 2014.

This is the third marriage for Drew. She was previously married to bar owner Jeremy Thomas in 1994 and Tom Green in 2001. She was also linked to The Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti and actor Justin Long. – Rappler.com
