WATCH: Carol Banawa’s ‘Bakit ‘Di Totohanin’ featured in ‘The Vampire Diaries’ scene
'I am in disbelief right now but very grateful' Carol Banawa writes on her Instagram after the episode titled 'Days of Future Past' aired.

MANILA, Philippines – It’s not every day that you get to hear a popular Filipino tune on US television. Carol Banawa’s ballad, “Bakit ‘Di Totohanin,” was used in hit The CW supernatural drama The Vampire Diaries.

The song played in the background of a tiki bar scene between Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) and Valerie Tulle (Elizabeth Blackmoore) in season 7, episode 16 entitled Days of Future Past.

Carol was elated that the episode had finally aired. “They have aired it already!” she wrote on Instagram, adding “I am in disbelief right now but very grateful! Will be watching it tonight! Again thank you to [The Vampire Diaries] Music Supervisor, Chris Mollere, [Ian Somerhalder] who directed this episode and the rest of the cast!”

The song was originally recorded in 1997 for the eponymous film that starred Judy Ann Santos and Piolo Pascual.
