Celebrities react to UK voting to leave the European Union

MANILA, Philippines – The British people have spoken: they want to be “out” of the European Union (EU).

In a historic referendum on Thursday, June 23 (Friday, June 24 in Manila) the United Kingdom voted 52% to 48% to leave from the 28-nation union, which has offered unfettered trade access and the free movement of labor across its borders.

Entertainment figures have spoken about this so-called Brexit, whether they were in favor of it or not – and even if they were on the other side of the pond. (READ: British stars back staying in EU)

The Harry Potter author, who was vocal about her opposition toward Britain leaving the EU, tweeted “Goodbye, UK” and “I don’t think I’ve ever wanted magic more.”
