MANILA, Philippines – TV host Iya Villania said she is fortunate her pregnancy has been “easy” so far, now that she is 8 months into it.
“I think I have been fairly lucky with my pregnancy. It’s been quite easy so far,” she told reporters at the GoBear launch Thursday, July 14 where she and husband Drew Arellano were announced as its endorsers.
Drew, however, did not attend due to prior commitments.
“Sana hanggang delivery masabi ko iyan. Baka mamaya sa delivery bawing-bawi ako sa paghihirap doon.
(I hope I can say that until I give birth. I might have a harder time during the delivery)
“So so far, so good. I’ve been enjoying my pregnancy,”
According to Iya, her cravings constantly change. She also said that their baby boy will be named Antonio, after Drew’s late father.
When asked if there have been changes with her and Drew since she got pregnant, Iya said: “Changes, I guess we won’t really know the changes until nandiyan na talaga si Bugoy. Because as of now, things can still be the same eh.
“It’s really just the anticipation na I wonder how its going to change our lives pag nandiyan na si Antonio.”
Iya also said that she would like to get back to work immediately after her pregnancy.
“Hopefully not too long a break – kung ano lang kailangan ko (What I just really need) just to find my baby’s routine, just to get the hang of things. But I’d like to return to work right away kasi I’m quite lucky, yung work ko naman hindi ganun ka-demanding (it’s not as demanding),” she said of her work as 24 Oras‘ showbiz anchor and Lip Sync Battle Philippines.
Iya also shared her thoughts on keeping fit during her pregnancy. In April, she was criticized for doing heavy exercises during the second trimester of her pregnancy.
“People are worried because they not used to seeing Pinays who are pregnant that work out. But it’s so old. It’s so old news na,” she said.
“Now it’s encouraged to exercise when you’re pregnant. Of course you just really have to listen to your body. You need to know what you’re capable of doing and yeah just be sensitive to what your body says.”
When asked what’s she looking forward to now that’s she is going to be a mom very soon, Iya said: “I’m looking forward to just having a baby in the house. I’m looking forward to the energy that the baby will bring. I’m looking forward to breastfeeding, I’m looking forward to seeing Drew as a papa.”
“I’m looking forward to when he starts to mumble random things, starts to walk, starts to say funny things… I’m looking forward to everything even the dirty nappies,” she said. – Rappler.com
