WATCH: Alicia Keys turns for ‘Voice’ contestant who sings ‘If I Ain’t Got You’

MANILA, Philippines – It takes guts to get up on The Voice stage and sing in front of artists like Alicia Keys, and it takes even more to sing a song by Alicia herself – but that’s exactly what The Voice contestant Lauren Diaz did.

It turned out that singing “If I Ain’t Got You” was a good decision, as Alicia was the first to turn for Lauren, followed by Miley Cyrus and Blake Shelton.

In the clip above, published on YouTube on September 20, they then start trying to win Lauren over to their team, even though there was no doubt Lauren would pick Alicia.

“I turned for fun,” said Miley, agreeing with Adam Levine – who didn’t turn – that “it’s over” for any of the other coaches who wanter her.

“It’s like, the sky is blue, the grass is green, this girl is on Alicia’s team,” continued Adam after banter from Miley and Blake.

“Lauren, I am not going to accept it,” responded Blake. “I don’t care how cute Adam’s poem is, it gets to the point where somebody is so talented, it just disrepectful to not hit your button.”

When it was Alicia’s turn to talk, she told Lauren, “If you decide to choose anybody else, I will say absolutely not, I will go kicking and screaming.” Then, she sang a tweaked version of her song: “Everything means nothing, if I ain’t got you, Lauren.”
