Filipino Ivy Grace Paredes withdraws from ‘X Factor’
A spokesperson from 'The X Factor UK' confirms that Ivy Grace Paredes will not make it to the Judges Houses portion of the competition because of visa issues

MANILA, Philippines – After making it through Boot Camp on The X Factor UK, Filipino singer Ivy Grace Paredes had to withdraw from the competition due to visa concerns.

Ivy, 33, hails from Malaybalay, Bukidnon, and was supposed to move on to the Judges Houses portion after the Six Chair Challenge.

“As with all contestants traveling to the US for Judges Houses, Ivy was required to have a visa. Unfortunately there was an issue with her application being approved which meant that she was not granted a visa in time and sadly had to withdraw from the competition,” said a a statement emailed to Rappler from a UK spokesperson from The X Factor.

According to The Sun, she had to travel to Los Angeles for Judges Houses, where contestants perform for judges Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh, and Nicole Scherzinger at their homes.

Ivy, whose parents take care of her 2-year-old daughter in the Philippines, sang Mariah Carey’s “One Sweet Day” with fellow contestants Mike Hough and Lascel Wood for Boot Camp.

Before that, she sang Whitney Houston’s “All The Man I Need” during her audition.
