Looking for a good scare? Mystery Manila's Debby's Doll room features creepy old toys, tinkling nursery rhymes, and a doll inspired by the one from 'Annabelle'

MANILA, Philippines – October is drawing to a close, Halloween is just around the corner, and creepy haunted houses and attractions have opened up all over the Metro.

But not all scary attractions are only open at Halloween – if you’re looking for an out-of-season thrill, some are open year-round too!

No matter the time of the year, going through escape room attractions like Escape Hunt Manila, Breakout Philippines, and Mystery Manila all means everyone will be gleefully screaming and scrambling to get out, all under time pressure.

At Mystery Manila, the creepiest are their supernatural-themed rooms: Debby’s Doll, Rebecca’s Room, and Rebecca’s Revenge.

We tried out Debby’s Doll, where you and your friends have an hour to escape a house haunted by an evil spirit that manifested itself in an old doll.

There was no shortage of screams, starts (from us) and creepy stares (from the toys), and the music – tinkling nursery ryhmes sung by a child – added a lot to the room’s effect.

Something else that might scare you at Debby’s Doll: the doll in question is inspired by the one from The Conjuring and Annabelle films.

If you can’t seem to solve the clues to escape the room (or if you’re too scared to move forward), a button calls on someone from the Mystery Manila team to help you.

To play at Mystery Manila, gather up a group of two to 6 and book a room at one of their branches at Century City Mall, Jupiter, or Libis. You can find more details about bookings and prices here.

Of course, Mystery Manila also has a special Halloween attraction set up for 2016!

They’re holding a special mystery room at the Ayala Museum on Friday, October 28, called Midnight Museum 3: Murder in the Museum. Guests have to figure out the mystery behind the murder of the museum’s senior curator.

Tickets for Midnight Museum 3 are available at the Ayala Museum and Mystery Manila’s branches for P850. It will run from 7 pm tp 12 am, and walk-ins are welcome. More details here.
