BB Gandanghari is legally a woman

MANILA, Philippines – BB Gandanghari is now legally a woman after a California court approved her petition to change her name and gender.

BB made the announcement on Wednesday, November 16, via Instagram.

“This is it! And I thought this day would never come. And I thank my God and my Lord for making these things happen. Everything makes sense now… and to this great country, the United States of America, for providing this [basic human right]. Thank you!” she said, with the hashtag #officiallyBBlegallyGandanghari.

In 2006, when she was still known as Rustom, BB admitted during a conversation on Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition that she was gay. After taking time off abroad, BB came out as a transgender woman in 2009. – Rappler.com
