Frozen’s Queen Elsa to appear in ‘Once Upon A Time’ Season 4
The show’s Season 3 finale ends with a magically frozen touch

MANILA, Philippines – To all Frozen and Once Upon A Time fans: yes, you read it right. Queen Elsa of Frozen is set to take Storybrooke by storm in Season 4 of ABC’s fantasy series, Once Upon A Time

In an exclusive interview by Entertainment Weekly with OUAT creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, who are also the creators of the hit series Lost, it has been confirmed that the Disney ice queen has indeed been cast as the show’s new (misunderstood) villain.

“What we loved so much about Elsa was she was perceived to be a villain, but of course we understood she was misunderstood. And the only one who understood that was her sister. That was a very thematic thing for us, which is a misunderstood character who everyone perceives to be bad,” Kitsis explained to Entertainment Weekly.

In line with this, Horowitz also gave assurances that Elsa’s character in the show will still reflect the same misunderstood Disney princess who we’ve all come to know in Frozen.

“We very much want to honor what came in the movie. We’re not trying to redefine the character; what we’re trying to do is take this beloved character and fit her into our world.”

On the possibility of seeing other Frozen characters on Once Upon A Time, Horowitz hinted, “Yeah, we’d be disappointed if Elsa was the only one we saw, but we’re not quite ready yet to tell you who else we may encounter.”

We caught the first glimpse of Elsa in the last few moments of the Season 3 finale. The two-hour episode aired on Sunday night (May 12, Manila time), wrapping up a 20-episode season. In the third season of Once Upon A Time, we saw Snow White, Prince Charming, Emma, Hook, Regina, and the rest of the enchanted characters deal with dizzying plot twists and navigate through the complicated tangles of their existence.

But the story of how Elsa ended up in Storybrooke remains unclear. Dressed in her trademark ice blue gown and side-braid, the blonde queen is shown breaking out from Rumpelstiltskin’s vault. In the final scene of the episode, we see Elsa sauntering to the farmhouse with one hand un-gloved; leaving an unmistakable trail of ice behind her.

With her mysterious entrance into Storybrooke, we are still left in the dark on who will be portraying the much-loved Disney character. Internet fans have been speculating on which talented blonde actress will get to portray her. Names such as Dianna Agron, Brittany Snow, and even Kristen Bell (who voiced Elsa’s sister, Princess Anna, in Frozen) have been thrown around, but it’s really anybody’s guess at this point.

Who do you think will get to play Queen Elsa in the show’s fourth season? – Rappler.com
