MANILA, Philippines- Days after confirming that he was single again, comedian Vice Ganda said that the break-up between him and his ex-boyfriend was a mutual decision.

 “I believe that the only way to keep him is to let him go. Nag-peak na kami. Ang ganda ng samahan namin, ang ganda ng pagkakaibigan namin. Feeling ko ‘yun na ‘yun,” (We had a good relationship, our friendship is good. I feel that was the best we could do.) Vice told Kris Aquino in an interview on The Buzz on Sunday, May 18.

Despite ending their relationship, Vice said that he will always regard his ex-boyfriend as part of his life. The comedian also said his ex will be happy with someone else.

“Ang hirap maka-move on kung masyado na kaming na-associate sa isa’t isa. Gusto ko siyang magka-girlfriend, gusto ko siyang magkaasawa. Lahat ng chi-chikahin niya, lahat ng kakaibiganin niya ang sasabihin sa kanya ‘Naku meron ka namang ganyan, kayo naman ni ganyan,’” (It’s difficult to move on if we are very associated with each other. I want him to have a girlfriend, a wife. All the friends and people he will talk to will say that ‘he has this because you are together.’), he explained.

“We are separated but we are never apart,” he added drawing a lot of screams from the audience. 

Asked for a message to his former boyfriend, Vice wishes nothing but the best for him.

“I wish him luck. Gusto ko maging masaya siya habang buhay,” (I want him to be happy) he said. “Habang buhay ko siyang papanoorin umaangat at habang buhay akong papalakpak tuwing umaangat siya,” (I will always watch him as he goes further and I always clap for him every time he rises to the top).

Prior to the interview, Vice took to his Twitter account on May 9 and 10, posting a series of tweets which hinted that he had ended the 5-year relationship. – Rappler.com
