David Blaine to bring his unique brand of magic to Manila
David Blaine will showcase his skills in a 90-minute show later this year

MANILA, Philippines – One of the great modern magicians will be coming to Manila.

David Blaine will perform in the Philippines on September 12 at the Araneta Coliseum.

According to the press release, Blaine’s show, called Real or Magic, will be his first ever show in the country. The show will feature various tricks that have caught everyone’s attention, as seen in his videos of  “street magic” performances.

Born in New York, Blaine rose to fame when he debuted his magic in 1997.

Blaine later took his magic to another level by performing death-defying performances inspired by his idol, Harry Houdini. Some of these include being “sealed in a coffin-like box at the bottom of a three-ton tank of water for a week; encased in ice for 63 hours; standing unsecured on top of a 30m high narrow pillar for 53 hours; and dangled in a plastic cube above the Thames for 44 days with only water to sustain him.”

During his Ted Talk, Blaine explained that as magician, he tries to make people stop and think, as well as challenge himself.

While not all of his moves will be seen during his one-night live show in Manila, fans will still surely be treated to a spectacular performance.
