Paolo Bediones goes to PNP for help to stop spread of alleged sex video
The TV5 anchor and host received a letter threatening him that the video will spread, and he's taking action to stop this

MANILA, Philippines –  TV 5 anchor and host Paolo Bediones sought the help of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Anti – Cybercrime Division, after receiving a letter threatening to spread his alleged sex video.

On Thursday, July 31, Paolo posted a photo on his Instagram, saying that he already went to the authorities.

“At the PNP-Anti Cybercrime Division. Investigation has begun. Please help me put a stop to this. Thank you,” he wrote.

On Sunday, July 27, Paolo’s name trended on Twitter following the news that the sex video went viral.

According to a report by Pep, two women who have been linked to the video, China Roces and Helen Grace Garbo Gonzalez, have each denied that she was the woman in the video.

The report said that China said she was not in the video, via the radio show Good Times With Mo. She also said that she has not watched it, and only saw it through her Facebook and Twitter.

Meanwhile, Helen posted a statement on her Facebook account after her name was dragged into the issue.

Although Paolo has not officially spoken over the matter, he posted a photo on Monday, July 28, hours before going on air, where he thanked his family and friends for being there for him.

“Getting ready for Aksyon Tonite. I am truly blessed to have a family like mine. Solid friends around me and supporters who are there no matter what. Overwhelming love. Life goes on. On air in a bit,” he wrote.

TV 5 released a statement saying that they are behind Paolo on the issue.

Prior to moving to TV 5, Paolo was with GMA-7 where he hosted Survivor Philippines and Extra Challenge.

Derek lends support

Actor Derek Ramsay has expressed his support for Paolo.

In an interview with Pep, Derek said he was sad over the situation his colleague in the Kapatid Network is going through.

“I just heard it from other people talking about it. “You know, sad, kawawa naman siya and yung girl. (You know, sad, I pity him and the girl.) And I don’t know kung paano nag-leak ang video and all that (And I don’t know how the video leaked and all that.),” he said during the premiere night of the film The Trophy Wife Tuesday, July 29.

In the same interview, Derek said that he was confident that Paolo will bounce back from the controversy.

“Life is filled with ups and downs. One minute you’re high and next thing, you’re down there.”

“It’s about how you bounce back and Pao—who we all know as a great talented man—will bounce back,” he said. – Rappler.com
