Kris Aquino, Herbert Bautista reunite in talk show

MANILA, Philippines – After their much talked about relationship last April, actress and TV host Kris Aquino was face to face with former boyfriend, Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista on Monday, August 11, on Aquino & Abunda Tonight.

“Hindi natin akalaing mangyayari ito, (We did not think this will happen) but it’s happening tonight,” Kris said as she introduced Herbert without Boy Abunda who is on sick leave.

During the show, the TV host grilled Herbert about the slapping incident of a Chinese drug suspect in Quezon City last week. 

The Quezon City mayor explained his side and apologized to the public for the incident. 

“By nature hindi ako nananakit ng tao. Physically, hindi ako nananakit ng tao,” Herbert said.

(By nature, I do not hurt people. Physically, I don’t hurt people.)

Kris interrupted by saying: ‘Physically, ha, ‘yan ang sinabi mo. Klinaro mo ‘yun, Mayor.”

(Physically ha, that’s what you said. You clarified that Mayor.)

Kris’ comment caused the people inside the studio to laugh.

She also asked Herbert about his thoughts on a number of issues, such as the future of the Payatas dumpsite, the death penalty, and the plakavest (a vest showing the plate number of the motorcycle) for motorcycle drivers.

In the same interivew, Herbert was also asked about his plans for the 2016 elections. He said that while things have yet to be discussed, given the chance, he would like to seek re-election as mayor of Quezon City.

As the interview was ending, Herbert thanked Kris for having him as a guest in order to clarify the slapping issue, in which the actress responded jokingly: ”Hindi nananakit si Mayor… damdamin lang, (The mayor does not hurt…only feelings)” which once again drew laughter inside the studio.

“Pasensya ka na at least friends na tayo,’’ she added. (I’m sorry, at least we’re friends now.)

Last June 10, Kris wrapped a taping of her show Kris TV early, saying she was “not okay.” Many believed that it was due to the Bandila interview of Herbert, wherein he said that he and Kris were not getting back together. 

On June 29,  Kris broke her silence, saying that while she was hurt over the interview, she had learned many things from him, and that “true love graciously lets go.”  –Rappler.com
