Homer Simpson does the Ice Bucket Challenge, ‘Simpsons’ style

MANILA, Philippines –  The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has come to Springfield!

Homer Simpson took on the challenge by pouring a glass of ice cold water on himself. But before doing that, he dared Ned Flanders, Lenny Leonard, and Donald Trump to do the same challenge.

But after Homer’s “challenge,” son Bart decided to do something drastic.

The Ice Bucket Challenge, which became a viral craze thanks to social media aims to raise awareness for ALS  or Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

As the rule goes, those nominated have 24 hours to respond and accept the challenge. If they choose not to accept, they will have to donate $100 to www.alsa.org/donate or to an ALS association of their choice. Or they can do both: take up the challenge and donate (READ: FAST FACTS: ALS and the Ice Bucket Challenge) 

The challenge has been done by international personalities such as Justin Timberlake, Jimmy Fallon, and even Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg.  

Sports personalities such as members of the Gilas Pilipinas, Nonito Donaire, and even Kobe Bryant also participated in the challenge.

Even Filipino tycoons took on the challenge with MegaWorld’s Andrew Tan, McDonald’s Kenneth Yang, and  Dr. Steven DeKrey, president of the Asian Institute of Management doing it. The Rappler team was not exempted from the challenge, either, and has challenged other personalities to do the task. –Rappler.com
