Ai-Ai delas Alas reveals she suffered from Bell’s Palsy

MANILA, Philippines – Comedy queen Ai-Ai delas Alas admitted that she suffered from Bell’s Palsy for two weeks, but chose not to talk about it. 

According to a report from Pep, Ai-Ai made the revelation during the press conference for the movie Past Tense, starring Xian Lim and Kim Chiu on Tuesday, November 11.

“Matagal po, two weeks akong hindi nakapag-shoot. (It took a while, I did not shoot for two weeks.) 

“Pero, praise God, ang Bell’s Palsy ko, matagal yun, pero two weeks lang ang ibinigay sa akin ni Lord,” she said.

(But praise God, I suffered from Bell’s Palsy for just two weeks.) 

Ai-Ai said she believed that her condition allowed he to rest following recent news that cropped up about her, including revelations that she was dating a younger man, 20-year-old Gerald Sibayan from La Salle. 

According to the website of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Strokes, Bell’s Palsy “is a form of temporary facial paralysis resulting from damage or trauma to the facial nerves.”

Ai-Ai, who also celebrated her 50th birthday at the press conference, was given a cake and messages from family and friends at the even. When asked if she had anything else to ask for, Ai-Ai said: “Ay, wala na po akong mahihiling sa Panginoon kung hindi pasasalamat sa naibigay Niya sa akin sa buhay ko.
