Jam Sebastian of YouTube couple ‘Jamich’ dies
Jam had been battling lung cancer for almost a year

MANILA, Philippines – Jam Vhille “Jam” Sebastian, one-half of real-life YouTube couple Jamich, has died. He was 28.

“The fight is over, we lost the battle, my son Jam Fernando Sebastian just passed away 10:30 am March 4, 2015,” said Jam’s mother Maricar Sebastian on Facebook.

Fiancee Mich Liggayu posted on her Facebook at around 10:20 in the morning, saying that the family made the decision to take Jam off life support:

Nakapag decide na ang family. Hinihintay na lang maubos yung gamot ni Jam. Hindi ko kayang tignan ngayon yung ginagawa sakanya. Na inaayos na siya. Ang sakit marinig na napag uusapan na kung anong susuotin niya. Sabay sabay tayong mag pray for Jam na makaramdam na siya ng love and comfort sa arms ni God.  Pag pray din natin na maging strong tayong lahat. Everything will be okay…  We love you Jam Fernando Sebastian. I’m sure magiging sobrang ganda and happy ng birthday celebration mo sa Heaven.  Sana madream kita na ipaalam mo lang samin na masaya ka na and healthy ulit with God. Thank you for everything… No words can explain. Until we meet again…”

(The family has decided. They’re just waiting for Jam’s medicine to run out. I cannot bear to look at what they’re doing to him – that they are preparing him. It hurts to hear that they’re talking about what he’s going to wear in his wake. Let’s all pray together for Jam so that he will feel the love and comfort of God. Let’s all pray for strength too. Everything will be okay… we love you, Jam Fernando Sebastian. I’m sure your birthday celebration in Heaven will be both beautiful and happy. I hope to dream of you telling us that you’re happy and healthy with God again. Thank you for everything… no words can explain…. until we meet again.)

Jam had been battling lung cancer for about a year. He was put on life support Thursday, February 26, as reported by his fiancee Paolinne Michelle “Mich” Liggayu and her dad Christopher on Facebook.

He briefly woke up Friday to write a message for his fans, and woke up for a longer time Saturday, February 28, able to interact with family and visitors. (READ: Jam Sebastian on life support, friends ask for prayers)

News of Jam’s cancer diagnosis surfaced March 2014Since then, Jam’s family and Mich have been constantly updating fans on his condition via social media.

Jam rose to fame on YouTube with girlfriend Paolinne through their channel Jamich – a combination of Jam’s name and Paolinne’s second name, Michelle.

The videos feature Jam and Mich in different scenarios, telling different types of love stories. They first posted them just for friends, but soon gained a passionate following.

Most recently, Mich set up a flash mob surprise for Jam, just this past Valentine’s Day, with Mich saying was that all she wanted was for Jam to feel the love from fans and friends. The couple got engaged last May.

Jam’s brother Yexel announced on Facebook that Jam’s wake will be at the Loyola Memorial Chapel in Sucat, Paranaque.– Rappler.com
