Paul Soriano on Toni Gonzaga: Money won’t be an issue in our marriage
'It's obvious that she makes 10 times more than me. But that's never been an issue and it will not be an issue in our marriage,' Paul says

MANILA, Philippines – Newly engaged filmmaker Paul Soriano said that money will not be an issue between him and superstar actress and host Toni Gonzaga as they move forward to the next stage of their lives as a couple.

In an interview on The Buzz Sunday, February 1, the couple announced the happy news of their engagement to the public together. Paul said that when he proposed to Toni, he knew he could provide for her.

“It’s obvious that she makes 10 times more than me. But that’s never been an issue and it will not be an issue in our marriage, because I would like to be the one to provide for her. And the fact that I asked her means I can provide for her for the rest of her life,” he said.

“And with God at the center of this, and if he’s for us, there’s nothing that could really go against us. And we just continue to put our faith in him and just be still.”

“We can start fresh…she’s a very simple girl. She has very simple things that she wants outside of the cameras. We just want to live a simple beautiful life,” Paul added.

Toni shared that after Paul proposed, her mother Pinty later said that she can ask for the money she worked hard for anytime. (Read Rappler’s interview with Toni here.)

You can give all of your money to your parents if you want. That’s your gift for them. And then we can start on our own, we can save up for our own,'” Toni shared.

Toni and Paul confirmed their engagement, a week after Toni was absent from The Buzz. The TV host-actress thanked Paul for waiting for her patiently for the last 7 years, sayng that he will become her number one priority.

Friends and family were thrilled to hear the news and expressed their happiness on social media. Toni and Paul, who have been together for 7 years (nearing 8), are set to wed this year.  Rappler.com
