24 PH stars and their Chinese Zodiac signs

MANILA, Philippines – It’s the year of the Monkey starting Monday, February 8, and it’s always fun to check out what’s in store for your Chinese zodiac sign in the new year.

In the zodiac’s 12-year cycle, each of the years is represented by an animal in this specific chronological order: the rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog and pig. The 5 elements of the universe –  earth, water, fire, wood and metal – interact with the 12 animals.

 

The animal signs are also known to have certain personality traits. Let’s take a look, all in good fun:

Rat

Famous Rats: Sam Milby (May 23, 1984) and newlywed Marian Rivera (August 12, 1984) are both rats.

Rats are said to be shrewd and resourceful, with nimble minds, and very charismatic. They are also born leaders, but can sometimes be manipulative and calculating. 

Still, loyalty is one of the Rats’ virtues, and they are very protective of their close friends and family. 

These featured celebs are quick to defend their friends and loved ones.

Ox

Famous Oxen: Solenn Heussaff (July 20, 1985), John Lapus (July 7, 1973)

Oxen are known to be very steadfast and loyal, but can also be stubborn and impassive at times. But they make great friends because they often really prefer to invest in a few relationships, rather than their more gregarious counterparts. 

Tiger

Famous Tigers: Angelica Panganiban (November 4, 1986), Carla Abellana (June 12, 1986)

Tigers are said to be bold and energetic, with a great enthusiasm for life. They can sometimes be temperamental and over-competitive.

Rabbit

Rabbits are known to be sweet, thoughtful, and kind-hearted; they are often gentle souls and are persevering. They can often seem aloof, however, but just remember that they often keep a low profile and aren’t necessarily fond of the spotlight. 

Dragon

Blessed with strong personalities, dragons are exceedingly charismatic and are natural leaders. Popular and savvy, Dragons are said to gravitate naturally towards the spotlight – but they should also be careful to keep their headstrong nature from crossing over into stubborness or pride. 

Snake

Snakes are dubbed the wise and meditative ones. They know what they want and they achieve their goals in their own time. At some point, they can also “shed their skins” and try something completely different. However, Snakes can be very secretive creatures as well, and can be mistrustful sometimes.

Horse

The Horses are said to be lively and popular people as well as straightforward and honest. They are the type to throw themselves 100% into their chosen paths or careers. However, their constant need to be on the move all the time might lead to an erratic lifestyle.

Sheep

Famous sheep: Richard Yap (May 18, 1967), Marvin Agustin (January 29,1979)

The Sheep don’t like to be harried or to be pressured. They are very charming, but they tend to hold back on things they want to say. They are very shy people, but are very sympathetic when they need to be.

Hanz Cua warns those born under this animal sign to be wary of the people around. “Be careful of who you trust,” he said.

Monkey

Monkeys are clever, inventive, and witty. They are also very fast learners and can adapt to a lot of situations. They are also very open people and are very talkative, and they have a certain charm that people like. Due to their wide interests, they move from one thing to another and therefore often don’t prefer a 9-to-5 routine. 

Rooster

Roosters are said to be very honest, reliable and efficient in their work. Their good looks will attract many suitors, but will be level-headed, loyal partners when they finally find love.

Dog
