‘Revenge’ canceled, cast thanks fans for the love

MANILA, Philippines – After 4 years, drama series Revenge will come to an end. The show, which centered on Emily Thorne’s pursuit to seek justice for her father, was canceled by home network ABC on Wednesday, April 29. 

The cast tweeted their goodbyes and thank-yous to the fans who supported them over the years. Read below:

Ashley Madekwe, who played Grayson family employee Ashley Davenport, said:

In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Sunil Nayar said:

“We can officially tell our fans that this will be the end of the story. We’ve been talking to the network and we all just wanted to make sure that we felt very confident. Now that everybody has seen the finale – which is fabulous – everybody understands that as much as we all adore the show, it has hit exactly the mark it needed to to end. This is the series finale of Revenge that will be airing in a couple weeks.” 

Revenge is the story of a woman named Amanda Clarke whose father was jailed after being wrongly accused of treason.

She goes under the guise of Emily Thorne and returns to the Hamptons to avenge the people who were involved in the case of her father, including socialite and her father’s lover Victoria Grayson, who was Emily/Amanda’s primary suspect. 

But being emotionally detached is a struggle for her, as she befriends (and loves) those she enlists to help carry out her plans.  

The show’s series finale will air on May 10.
