MANILA, Philippines – It’s every KatyCat’s dream to be acknowledged by singer Katy Perry, and Martee Viray from Rizal just got his chance when Katy called him onstage at her Manila concert, Thursday, May 7.

After performing “Hot N’ Cold,” Katy told her Manila fans that she wanted to welcome them to the Prismatic Tour in Tagalog, saying,

“Listen, I know that some of you don’t understand me right now and unfortunately, I don’t know much of your language either. I wish we could speak the same language, right? Actually you know, can I just welcome you to the Prismatic world tour right now? I feel like I need to learn your language.

“I wonder if there’s anyone here who can help me speak your language?…Is there anyone here that can teach me Tagalog?”

She then scanned the crowd and asked, “You, in the fish suit, are you from the Philippines?”

She called the fan onstage, and he couldn’t help but hug her like crazy.

“Okay, let’s just breathe now. I’m gonna give you my water, drink this now,” said Katy.

The fan, 20-year old Martee from Rizal, was then asked “Will you take some pictures while we’re on here? I need you to teach me some words in your language.”

“How do you say hello in your language?”

Martee replied, “Just hello!”

“How do you say thank you?”

“Salamat.”

Katy then quipped, “Ooh, I like salami too! Salamat for your salami!”

“How do you say ‘I love you?’”

“Mahal kita,” he replied, while showing her a sign that said “Mahal kita, Katy.”

She then tells the crowd to keep quiet and said, “Mahal kita” to them before saying it to Martee.

Katy said, “I wanna reward you for being such a great KatyCat. Should we selfie?”

After they took some photos, she said, “We already have each other’s sweat on each other!”
