Angel Locsin addresses Luis Manzano breakup rumors

MANILA, Philippines – Following rumors that they had broken up, actress Angel Locsin clarified on Friday, January 29 that she and Luis Manzano are still together. Angel spoke up in an interview on Tonight with Boy Abunda.

“Hindi pa po (We haven’t broken up yet),” Angel answered when asked if they had parted. “May pinagdadaanan lang po kami. Pero inaayos naman po namin (We’re just going through something. But we’re fixing it),” she added trying to keep herself from getting emotional. 

When asked where she’s getting her strength during these difficult times, Angel said: “Sa lahat ng taong nagmamahal sa akin. Kahit kay Luis, humuhugot pa rin naman ako sa kanya. Hindi pa rin naman nawawala yung – kahit may problema kami, nandiyan pa din yung pagmamahal, Tito Boy. May mga kailangan lang kaming ayusin and I’m hoping maging maayos.” 

(From the people who love me. Even from Luis, I still get my strength from him. That doesn’t go away even if we are going through a problem, that love is still there. We just need to fix something, and I’m hoping it will be fixed.)

Angel apologized for not being able to talk about it further, saying it might just do more harm to their relationship.  

In a report on Bandila Wednesday, January 27, Luis confirmed that he and Angel were going through something in their relationship and were trying to iron it out.

Luis and Angel dated back in 2007 but broke up after two years. In 2014, they renewed their relationship after Angel appeared on Luis’ show Minute to Win It.

Both are currently working as part of Pilipinas Got Talent, where Luis is a host and Angel is a judge. (READ: ‘PGT’ judge Angel Locsin touched as fans chant ‘Darna’)

Health update, Darna, and Coco Martin

Meanwhile, during the blog conference for her upcoming movie Everything About Her, Angel gave an update on her condition after undergoing an operation in Singapore for her disc bulge last December.

“I feel great. Okay naman ang mga therapy ko, check-up ko. Kaya I think mas maaga na mapapagaling itong condition ko sa likod ko,” she said. (My theraphies are okay, my check-up as well. I think my [back] condition will heal sooner.)

As for whether she might still play Darna in the movie Star Cinema’s producing, Angel said that her priority is to get well, but added there have been some talks.

“Ang priority ko po kasi talaga ay magpagaling. May kaunting usap-usap pero ang kailangan lang po talagang mangyari ay maging successful po ‘yung operation at walang mangyayaring masama after that. So iyon lang po ang iniisip ko,” Angel said.

(My priority is to get well. There have been some talks, but what’s important is for me to have a successful operation and that nothing bad happens after. So that’s what I’ve been focusing on.)

In October, Angel and Star Cinema announced that she was no longer playing Darna after she suffered her injury. As of this time, Star Cinema has yet to announce Angel’s replacement. 

Meanwhile, Angel is still hoping to work with Coco Martin in a future project. The two have worked together in special episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya as tribute to one of the fallen Special Action Force police officers in the Mamasapano incident last year. In an earlier interview, Coco said he would really want to work with her again.

At the press conference, Angel said, “Gusto ko makatrabaho si Coco. Hindi lang po talaga magkatagpo-tagpo ang schedule namin kasi ang super busy ni Coco. Siya po ‘yung next na sana maging ka-partner ko po.”
