MANILA, Philippines – “Lahat naman tayo may insecurities. But my insecurities are more like, will I be successful? Ano kayang mangyayari sa akin 5 years from now, ‘yon ang mga kinakatakutan ko,” a confident Ellen Adarna told reporters at a recent press conference for her new show Pasion de Amor. 

(We all have insecurities. But my insecurities are more along the lines of, will I be successful? What will happen to me 5 years from now? Those things are what I am afraid of.) 

Ellen said that she is focusing on her career for now. Though well known for her enviable figure and perhaps best known for her sexy roles on screen, Ellen said that she’s setting her sights on other kinds of roles. 

“Alam mo ang gusto kong achievement in like where I am right now is maging Best Actress, hindi lang yung pa-sexy. Acting award naman,” Ellen said.

(What I want to achieve where I am right now is to be a Best Actress, not just doing sexy roles. An acting award.) 

Ellen on love 

Ellen also said she isn’t giving up on love, despite a few failed relationships in the past. 

“When it comes, it comes. It will find me,” she said regarding her love life.

Ellen, who broke up with her longtime boyfriend last year, admitted she had a short-lived relationship with someone after but said it didn’t work out.  (Ellen Adarna celebrates birthday, gears up for new drama)

“It’s not a bad breakup at all. Wala [kaming away]. Even now nagsasama pa rin kami kasi we have same group of friends. Pero wala na talaga, alam namin na toxic kami together,” she said.

(We’re not fighting. Even now, we still get together because we have the same group of friends. But I guess it’s not meant to be because we both feel we are toxic together.)

Although she has been linked to her leading man Ejay Falcon, Ellen said they are just good friends. Asked what she likes about him, she said: “Matangkad. Gusto ko matangkad, weakness ko iyon. Mabait siya, yung likod niya, mahilig din ako sa magandang likod. He takes all of my sh*t kahit binubully ko siya, okay lang sa kanya. He’s very, very patient.”

(He’s very tall. I like tall men, that’s my weakness. He’s very nice, I like his back because I like a nice back. He takes all of my sh*t even if I bully him, he’s fine with it.)
