MANILA, Philippines – The blind auditions on The Voice Kids 2 are now over, with all of the talents now sorted into their specific teams headed by their respective coaches. 

There were many standouts in the blinds, including some kids who played instruments, a musical duo, and a child who’s also proudly representing his tribe.

Reynan Dal-Anay, 11

Joined: Team Lea 

 

Reynan, 11 is from the Manobo tribe of Bukidnon. According to Reynan, he joined the competition because he wanted to serve as an inspiration not only to his tribe but to other ethnic groups as well.

 

Francis Lim, 12

Joined: Team Sarah

 

According to Francis’ biography, one of his favorite singers is Sarah Geronimo, whom he  chose to be his mentor in the competition. Francis considers Michael Jackson, Bruno Mars and Charice his favorite singers.

 

Esang de Torres, 8

Joined: Team Lea 

 

Prior to joining the competition, Esang, 8  joined  It’s Showtime‘s “mini-me” where she performed Annie‘s “Tomorrow” as Lea. All of the coaches tried to win her over, but she chose Lea to be her mentor. 

   

Jiah Austria, 12

Joined: Team Lea 

 

Jiah surprised judges with her strong, clear delivery, with coach Sarah commenting that she had a very mature voice. All 3 judges turned for her, but she chose to join team Lea.

 

Gian Ale, 9

Joined: Team Sarah 

 

Gian impressed judges with his smooth cover of Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud.” Navigating the high and low notes with ease, Gian chose to join team Sarah.

 

Emman and Sandy Tanio, 12 (Emman) 10, Sandy

Joined: Team Bamboo

 

Emman and Sandy said the reason they wanted to join The Voice Kids was to help their parents earn a better income. The brothers perform at the beach just to earn a little extra to help out at home.

At their blind audition, Emman and Sandy sang their own unique Visayan version of the hit “Just Give Me A Reason.”

Joined: Team Sarah 

 

Terese showcased her delicate voice and emotional and vocal range at her blind audition. Another 3-chair turner, she eventually chose to join team Sarah.

 

Rock Opong, 9

Joined: Team Sarah 

 

Rock got the judges’ attention when he performed a cover of “No Good In Goodbye,” surprising them with his strong, expressive vocals. All 3 judges found him adorable. Rock chose to join Sarah’s team. 

 

Sim Teves, 12

Joined: Team Bamboo 

Sim’s quietly powerful delivery won the judges over, with Lea saying that Sim had an ethereal quality to her, while Bamboo said he was “in awe of her.”

 

Jolianne Salvado, 11

Joined: Team Sarah

 

Jolianne’s sweet rendition of “Tattooed Heart” had all 3 judges turning for her. She also performed poetry onstage that she wrote herself.
