Lucita’s son, Gary Clint Adriano Garcia, confirmed her death through a Facebook post, saying, “Thank You Lord for the life you have given my mom here on earth. She is now at peace and will be coming back home to You.”

Soriano was admitted to the intensive care unit of Pacific Global Medical Center in Quezon City last Tuesday, July 7. Prior to that, she was admitted to the same hospital Sunday, July 5, due to severe diarrhea, the Inquirer reported.

The veteran character actress starred in more than 200 films since the late 1950s. She was a fixture on television, starring on shows such as Maalaala Mo Kaya, Valiente, and Familia Zaragoza.

Lucita also appeared on the hit telenovela Pangako Sa ‘Yo with Kristine Hermosa and Jericho Rosales, in 2000. Her last acting credit, according to the Internet Movie Database, was an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya in 2009.
