MANILA, Philippines – Gerald Anderson said that he is happy for pop star Sarah Geronimo, whom he once courted. 

In an interview with reporters during an event for CosmoCee, Sunday, July 12, Gerald talked about Sarah and gave an update on his ife.

“Ako ‘yung maiilang, ako ‘yung mahihiya [na makasama siya sa isang production number] kasi she’s one of the best performers sa Pilipinas. I’m just happy na she’s happy. She’s blooming,” Gerald said.

(I’m the one who’ll feel akward, feel shy about doing a production number with her because she’s one of the best performers in the Philippines.)

In an interview on Gandang Gabi Vice, Sarah, who is now in a relationship with Matteo Guidicelli, said that she and Gerald were fine after their failed relationship. (READ: Sarah Geronimo on Gerald Anderson, Rayver Cruz)

“Pero okay na kami ni Ge. Okay na kami,” Sarah said of her co-star in the movies Catch I’m In Love and Won’t Last A Day Without You. (But Ge and I are okay. We’re okay.)

Is Gerald willing to work with Sarah again? 

“Sabi ko nga kanina, ang pinaka-focus ko ay trabaho ko. Regardless, kung maganda ang proyekto, it would be my honor. But ayaw ko na magsalita pa. Mahirap,” he said.

(As I said a while ago, my main focus is my work. Regardless, if the project is good, it would be my honor. But I don’t want to talk first. It’s difficult.)

Enjoying life 

Meanwhile, Gerald said that he’s enjoying his life as a single guy.

“Trabaho lang. Hindi po ako naghahanap. Masaya lang po ako sa nangyayari ngayon. Doon muna ako sa tahimik. I’m just enjoying myself muna and become a better person,” he said. (READ: Gerald Anderson and Maja Salvador ‘taking a break’)

As for the possiblity of a new relationship, Gerald said:  “Hindi ko po alam. Hindi ko po masasabi iyon… Pero like I said, ang dami ko pang kailangan matutunan sa sarili ko.” 

(I do not know. I cannot say that… But like I said, I still have so many things to learn about myself.)

“Ang dami ko ring na-realize sa buhay ko. Ang dami ko ring pagkakamali. Ang dami ko ring failures. Unti-unti, I’m trying to learn from it and become a better person. Siyempre alam ko pong nakasakit ako ng mga tao na I care about na hindi ko naman po sinasadya. Nasaktan din ako siyempre but God is good. Let’s move on and become better people,” he added.

(I realized so many things with my life. I made a lot of mistakes. There were many failures. Little by little, I’m trying to learn from it and become a better person. Of course I know I hurt people that I care about without meaning to. I also got hurt but God is good. Let’s move on and become better people.)
