MANILA, Philippines – It looks like the sons of ex-showbiz couple Benjie Paras and Jackie Forster will soon be entering show business full-time.

Andre (18 years old, 6’5” and player of the UP Fighting Maroons) and Kobe (16 years old, 6’4” and player of La Salle Greenhills) recently signed managerial contracts with Viva Artist Agency.

According to their dad Benjie, his two boys are not that keen to act on TV or the movies yet. But they are okay doing TV commercials for now.

“Their contracts with VAA are for product endorsements. Hindi pa kasama diyan ang mag-artista sila (Acting is not yet part of that),” the basketball star-turned-actor said.

“They are both serious with school and basketball. Okey lang naman iyon kasi gusto ko rin silang makatapos ng pag-aaral (That’s fine with me because I’d like it if they finish school), and if they want to try showbiz, they can decide on that later on.”

But the issue between the boys and their mom, Jackie Forster, has still to be resolved.

Benjie gained full custody of the boys when his marriage with Jackie was annulled. He has since been married to Lyxene Diomampo, with whom the boys grew up, calling her their “real mom.”

So when Jackie attacked their stepmom via Twitter, the boys came to their stepmom’s rescue.

But Benjie was quick to admonish his sons to show respect to Jackie since she is their biological mother.

Jackie, on the other hand, has since been apologetic, saying that she misses her sons. She even made a music video for her sons to show that she is reaching out to them.

Both Andre and Kobe appreciate what their mom is doing and have told her they will face her when the right time comes.

For now, the Paras brothers are still healing from the wounds from Jackie’s leaving the family.

As they say, time heals all wounds and Jackie has to wait for her sons to get over everything. – Rappler.com
