Heart to go daring in new film

MANILA, Philippines – Actress and TV host Heart Evangelista will try out a different image as she starts filming her first daring project under Viva Films, titled “Trophy Wife.”

Heart will star opposite Derek Ramsay, Cristine Reyes, and John Estrada.

At the film’s story conference, Heart said she was excited about her latest project. She will do scenes she has never done before.

“I’m already 28-years old and I feel that this is the time to really get into something different,” she said.

“My life has gone through a lot of changes this year and it has helped me a lot to grow and make decisions for myself.

“Kaya itong project na ito, this is the first decision that I made for myself na walang nakialam.” (This project is the first decision I made for myself without anybody interfering.)

“I told the people at Viva that I am open to many things now. Huwag silang matakot na ipagawa sa akin ang mga ganitong mga eksena [Let them not be afraid to have me do these scenes] because I will have an open mind about everything.

“Basta [As long as] it’s done in good taste at hindi nakaka-offend sa pagkababae ko [and it doesn’t offend my being a woman], I am willing to do it.”

Just to show that Heart is making a big change in her career, she agreed to star in a movie opposite her ex-boyfriend Jericho Rosales.

“I see no problem working with Jericho. I’m very happy with my life and if you’re happy with your life it’s okay to work with someone from your past. It shouldn’t mean anything to you.

“I have moved on, he has moved on – let’s all move on. If that project happens, well, it’s another thing to be talked about.”

Did she have to ask the permission of her boyfriend, Senator Chiz Escudero, about her new daring image?

“When it comes to my career, ayaw niyang makialam [he doesn’t want to interfere],” she said. 

“Though I want him to get involved naman, but he would rather not kasi wala naman daw siyang alam sa ganitong trabaho [because he said he doesn’t know anything about this line of work].

“I appreciate that he lets me decide on what I want to do with my career. Nakita naman niya ang maturity ko [he can see how I’ve matured] and he trusts me with my decisions.

“Like when I did that sexy cover for ‘Esquire’ magazine, he was there during the whole shoot and he did not say a word about what I was doing. Nakangiti lang siya parati.” (He was just always smiling.)

Amid the recent election campaign this year, the reelectionist senator and her celebrity girlfriend became caught in a serye-type episode with Heart’s parents. The actress fought for her love and this dampened her relations with her parents.

But lately, Heart and her dad, Rey Ongpauco, have been in good terms.

“Okey na kami ni daddy. We had that father-daughter talk. Kung ano ang napag-usapan namin, sa amin na lang iyon.” (Whatever we talked about, it’s just among ourselves.)

“What’s important is that we are talking again just like before.”

Heart adds that what happened between her and her parents only made her stronger.

“I wouldn’t be who I am now if it weren’t for the experiences or the decisions that I’ve made before.”
