As Angel, Luis rekindle romance, how are their exes doing?

MANILA, Philippines – So Angel Locsin publicly declared her love for former boyfriend Luis Manzano, whom she broke up with 4 years ago. Three months after breaking up with soccer player Phil Younghusband, Angel said she was hoping to get back together with Luis.

Luis himself broke up with actress girlfriend Jennylyn Mercado in October.

So how are their exes – Phil and Jennylyn – doing?

“I’m okay, I look okay,” said Jennylyn during the launch of her latest teleserye Rhodora X on Monday, January 20. 

“Kahit papaano naman, I wish them well. Wala na ako dun, kung anuman ang meron sila,” she told Pep.ph. (I can say I wish them well. I’m out of whatever there is between them.)

Did she feel betrayed that these revelations came shortly after she and Luis broke up? Jennylyn said she’d let the public form their own opinion.

“Hindi, hayaan na lang natin ang tao na mag-decide o mag-isip. Matatalino na ngayon ang mga tao. Hindi na kailangan i-explain. Alam na nila ‘yun,” she told Pep.ph. (Let’s just let the people decide or form their opinion. People are smart. You don’t need to explain these things to them. They’d know.)

‘We must all move on’

In earlier interviews, Phil said he is not over Locsin, but hopes for her happiness.

On January 21, the Philippine Azkals player posted a photo of a peace symbol on Instagram with the caption asking the public to move on from the issue.

“To all those involved, can I kindly request we put an end to this issue? We appreciate all your support, but if we are to be happy, we must all move on. As supporters of Angel & I, let’s all move past this & look forward. Thanks!” he wrote.

Meanwhile, Phil’s older brother and fellow Azkals member James Younghusband said he felt disappointed about his brother’s break-up. But he added that his brother has been doing well as an athlete.

He recently told Pep.ph that he “understand[s] that one has a reason, and who knows maybe in the future.”
