Multi-awarded photographer George Tapan reveals tips for budding travel photographers
MANILA, Philippines - Childhood.
It is a special time in the lives of our little ones — a time when they are free to explore, to learn on their own, to dance in the rain, to play with abandon — with no worries at all about tomorrow.
For us parents, this time in our children's lives goes by way too fast. One moment, he is a 3-year-old toddler who needs mommy to clean up after he feeds himself messily; the next moment, he is 13 years old and goes on sleepovers at a friend's house.
In this time of technology, time goes by even faster, with parents needing to accomplish 10 hours of work in a day, leaving no time to stop and marvel at our toddler's development.
But there is a way in which technology can actually help us preserve our child's memorable milestones.
Many moms take time to create beautiful scrapbooks of their toddler's precious moments; now, there is a way for us to create this "scrapbook" online.
At the same time, we can share our child's story with other parents, too.
Mead Johnson Nutrition, with its mission to nourish the world's children for their best starts in life, is here to help.
The Book of Best Starts
Mead Johnson Nutrition, makers of Enfakid A+, Lactum 3+ and 6+, and Sustagen, is launching their Best Starts campaign in cooperation with Rappler.
Dubbed "The Book of Best Starts: Nourishing your child's many starts in life," it is a Facebook app that allows every parent to create a digital scrapbook of her child's wondrous adventures and milestones growing up.
How? It's simple: Upload your child's best photos and complete the book.
Make the book in 3 easy steps
Step one: Register
Complete the form in the Mead Johnson Nutrition Facebook app.
Step two: Customize
Indicate your child's name and choose a color for your cover.
Step three: Upload your child's photos
Celebrate your child's progress with the world through uploading captured moments in learning, play and nourishment. The more candid the photos, the better!
An important note: Once a child's photo is uploaded and saved, a parent can no longer edit or change the photo.
In a nutshell, you will be uploading 4 photos of your child:
1) A cover photo
2) A "learning" photo
3) A "playing" photo
4) A "feeding" photo, or a photo of your child receiving nourishment
Remember, your child will see this digital book when he's older, and will be able to appreciate that you — the busy stay-at-home or working parent — took the time to make this book for him.
Share with other parents
Mead Johnson Nutrition not only wants you to be able to create a book; they want you to connect with other parents who have done so, too.
The Facebook app will have a Gallery page where all the books will be displayed.
From this gallery, you will be able to browse through other parents' books, cast your vote and — who knows? — make new parent friends!
Of the Top 20 most voted books, 10 will be selected by a panel of judges to win the new iPad loaded with apps on learning, play and nourishment.
The remaining 10 books will be given Php 2,000.00 worth of Sodexo Gift Certificates.
Mead Johnson Nutrition and its brands Enfakid A+, Lactum 3+ & 6+ and Sustagen are here with you in every step of your child's development.
