Multi-awarded photographer George Tapan reveals tips for budding travel photographers
STAY COOL. An earthy and nude palette is cool to the eyes. All photos by Edric Chen
MANILA, Philippines - There were pops of color and print here and there, but earthy hues were the majority at the Ready to Wear show of Philippine Fashion Week Summer 2013 last October 28 at the SM Mall of Asia main atrium.
The show was sponsored by Magnum ice cream and featured young designers Dave Ocampo, Emi Alexander Englis, Jian Lasala, John Guarnes and twins John and Paul Herrera who presented a collection each.
Dave Ocampo's collection featured color and floral prints.
Emi Alexander Englis presented surreal pieces with eye-catching cut-outs and masks strapped to the models' heads.
Jian Lasala stayed true to his minimalist aesthetic with clean lines in refreshing pastel pieces.
John Guarnes presented structure with a touch of modern Filipiniana.
John Herrera took the military-inspired route, Roman-style.
His twin Paul consistently used blacks with neutrals and a touch of seemingly tribal symbols.
