While Cebu boasts of hundreds of hotel, five-star Radisson Blu Cebu, the first Radisson Blu in Asia is gaining ground with a diverse customer base. Rappler stayed at the hotel during its recent #MoveCebu event.

Situated on the island of Cebu, this hotel is an oasis of sorts.

With a panoramic view of Mactan channel… it’s close enough to the center but far enough from the city’s noise.

An arresting mix of Asian and modern… the hotel’s interiors are mysterious, engaging and professional.

While Cebu boasts of hundreds of hotel, five-star Radisson Blu Cebu, the first Radisson Blu in Asia, is gaining ground with a diverse customer base.

In just two years, Radisson blu has become one of Cebu city’s premier hotels.

Even on weekdays, it finds itself fully-booked because of business conventions. Over the past year, it has seen a rise not just in businessmen but in tourists as well.

Next door to the island’s biggest mall, Radisson Blu is a convenient choice for all of travelers with 400 wifi-powered spacious rooms, furnished with memory foam beds and 5-star amenities, a sprawling swimming pool with a pool bar, a rejuvenating, in-house spa and a high-tech fitness center.

Another guest favorite? Feria, the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant.

International chefs and dishes make Radisson Blu’s buffet to die for both for its food and the experience.

But beyond the special amenities, Radisson Blu is most proud of its people.

With a philosophy called “Yes, I can,” the management encourages its team members to deliver above and beyond what the guests expect.

Rica Reyes-Rellon, Director of Marketing and Communications:
So in your own little circle of influence, if you are a room attendant, and you clean the room, you have to go that extra mile to ensure that the guest is happy with their basic accommodation. And if you actually get the chance to interact with them and you find out about, you know, little things that they like, and you can go the extra mile and do that simple touch, then that would be really making a difference in the experience of the guests.

The philosophy works.

Rellon says Radisson Blu has become the first choice for celebrities and VIPs, including foreign leaders, actors, and athletes.

Engineer Sam Maylor, one of the hotel’s loyal guests, calls Radisson Blu his second home.

He says he is in Radisson Blu about 100 days a year and attests to the hotel’s exceptional service.

Sam Maylor, Hotel guest:
They make me feel very comfortable like I’m very welcome here… This is the best hotel in Cebu area. I’ve stayed in all of them and this is the best one. Unfortunately Manila doesn’t have one.

In the coming year, Radisson Blu will take their cuisine to new heights and make Feria a tourist destination in itself.

It is also turning to social media to reach more people.

Radisson Blu… redefining world-class in historic Cebu.
