MANILA, Philippines – Evangelical preacher Nick Vujicic, who grew up with no arms and legs, spoke about overcoming disability Saturday, May 18 at the newly-opened worship center of a local mega-church.

In a sold-out speaking engagement organized by Becca Music, Inc at the Christ’s Commission Fellowship (CCF) building in Pasig, the Australian-born speaker recounted his liberation from depression by means of finding contentment and capitalizing in what he had.

“Ate age 8, I started to believe in a lie: ‘Nick, you’re not good enough. You don’t have arms and legs… You won’t get a job,” he said, sharing his journey from no limbs to no limits.

He added that one must not be too conscious of others’ opinions, if they are not to help in building one’s character.

“Free is a person who has no fear of what others will think,” he explained.

Vujicic was diagnosed with tetra-amelia syndrome at birth. He is the author of international best-selling book “Life Without Limbs: Inspiration for a Ridiculously Good Life,” which narrates how good things started coming when he learned to embrace his condition.

Coming to terms with your own limitations starts the process of renewal of thinking, he added.

The internationally-sought speaker is married to Kanae Miyahara, with one son.
