MANILA, Philippines – Ever thought what it’s like to be famous enough to have mailing stamps with your image on them?

No need to wonder because nowadays, you can actually have your selfies printed out as your own personalized stamp which you can use to mail letters and packages. You can even wear a tiara if you like.

The government’s Philippine Postal Corporation (PhlPost) is setting up photo booths in popular tourist destinations so that Filipinos as well as tourists can have their photos taken and printed as their own personalized stamps.

“It’s like creating your own history in postage stamps,” PhlPost said in a statement.

Six stamps make up one sheet that will cost customers P210 ($4.70).

They can also buy post cards near the photo booths that they can mail right away so you can share your adventures in various tourist spots in the country.

Immortalizing yourself on a postage stamp will also put you in the same boat as Miss World 2013 winner Megan Young. The beauty queen’s stamps feature two photos taken by Bong Tan – one close up and one sitting on her throne.

In an attempt to revolutionize snail mail in the age of electronic mail, PhlPost says they are trying to utilize information technology to serve its clients better, and to expand its market through e-commerce.

The government’s postal services arm also launched their own “Pinoy e-Mall”, an e-commerce solution that allows merchants to set-up and run their online store in an instant.

Smartphone users can also download the PhlPost Mobile App that will feature the e-Door-to-Door delivery service.

PhlPost is also set to put in place its own mobile application for social pension pay-out next. The upcoming app wll end to end solution will be piloted to serve the requirements of Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) beneficiaries under the Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizen Program (SPISCP).

What do you think of PhlPost’s new innovations? Would you go and get a selfie stamp? Let us know in the comments section below. – Rappler.com
