Hong Kong’s Michelin-starred Kam’s Roast Goose to open in Manila

MANILA, Philippines – Yes, it’s true! Kam’s Roast Goose, the Hong Kong restaurant famous for its mouth-watering roast goose (it has one Michelin star, earned in 2015 and 2016), is coming to Manila!  

There aren’t many details yet, but Foodee Global Concepts, who put up Tim Ho Wan and The Food Hall by Todd English in Manila, confirmed the happy news on Instagram:

Well, the goose is out of the bag or so they say. Thanks, @jinlovestoeat happy Sunday ……….Roast goose leg over rice lunch on the run!  Good news for all the roast goose-loving people of the Philippines: No need to fly to Hong Kong because the 1-Michelin star Kam’s Roast Goose is coming to Manila very soon!  Follow @foodeeglobalconcepts to be the first to know!

The Kam family actually is famous for another famed roast goose restaurant called Yung Kee in Hong Kong. The family’s disputes and issues are documented online (more on that here); Hardy Kam later started Kam’s Roast Goose. The official website says: “The establishment of Kam’s Roast Goose (KRG) is to commemorate our beloved late grandfather, Mr. Kam Shui Fai and father, Mr. Kam Kinsen Kwan Sing.”

At Kam’s in Hong Kong, diners brave a long line outside before finding themselves in roast goose heaven – at Kam’s, it is perfectly fatty, with a rich and savory, lip-smacking flavor.

Many diners also order the soy chicken and roast pork. The century egg, with its almost creamy soft center, is also a highlight. 

We don’t know yet what Filipino diners will be able to expect, though, so we’ll update this as soon as we find out more!
