The ‘Christmas Cookie Latte’ and 16 amazing PH holiday drinks

MANILA, Philippines – The holidays are quickly drawing nearer, and your favorite coffeeshops and teashops are breaking out the holiday drinks just in time for the Christmas season. 

Let’s take a look at the options available at popular beverage outlets this year: 

Starbucks

Featured drinks: Christmas Cookie Latte, Peppermint Mocha, Toffee Nut Latte

Most recently, Starbucks unveiled their holiday menu. While the toffee nut latte and peppermint mocha drinks are holiday staples, the third drink changes every year. This year, the Christmas Cookie Latte is the mystery drink.

Drinks are available hot or iced. Short P150, Tall – 160, Grande – P175, Venti – P185. Blende, Tall – 170, Grande – P180, Venti – P190

The holiday items will be available from November 3, 2014 to January 8, 2015.

The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf 

Featured drinks: Red Velvet (ice blended, P165 regular, P185 large, or hot coco, P120, P135, P150), and Winter Dream Tea Latte (iced or hot). 

Note: The Winter Dream Tea Latte will be launched in November. 

At the Coffee Bean, you can opt for a sweet dessert drink or one with a spiced twist. The red velvet drink combines a creamy texture with chocolate taste and signature pinkish color.

The Winter Dream Tea Latte is a “blend of Ceylon black tea and South African rooibos with traditional sweet mulling spices.”

Seattle’s Best Coffee

Featured drinks: There are 4 key holiday drinks at Seattle’s Best: Coffee Hazelnut, Caramel Apple, Cookie & Mint, and the newest, the Salted Almond Truffle.  

Note: they come in hot and cold versions, too.

The Salted Almond Truffle is described as “SBC’s classic mocha harmoniously mixed with almond and sea salt covered with whipped cream, chocolate cause, crushed Almonds and Christmas candy on top.”

These drinks certainly appear to be dessert-inspired, with the holiday twist coming from the addition of Christmas candy to the final products. 

Figaro 

Featured drinks: At Figaro, you can choose from two hot and two cold drinks: the Praline (frost or latte) or the Speculoos (frost or latte). 

The frost drinks go for P145 (16 oz) and P165 (20 oz), while the latte drinks go for P119 (8oz). 

At the milk tea shops, holiday drinks are all about indulgence and extra-sinful desserts-turned-beverages.

Chatime

Featured drinks: Creme brulee milk roasted milk tea with pearls (P85 regular size, P95 large), Blackberry milk tea with pudding (P85 regular size, P95 large), and hazelnut chocolate with mousse (P95 regular, P105 large). 

Note: Pay a little extra to add your choice of toppings.  

Serenitea 

The holiday options at Serenitea are chocolate-based and feature the popular treat, Ferrero Rocher. 

Featured drinks: Chaffe Royal, Banana Choco, Dark Choco Earl Grey, all with Ferrero. Note: this will still be launched mid-November.
