Petit Monde presents 4 collections at the opening of Philippine Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2014

MANILA, Philippines – Philippine Fashion Week [#PhFW] Spring-Summer 2014 opened on Wednesday, October 23, with the debut of Filipino fashion brand Petit Monde in the week-long fashion fest.

The brand has been around for over 20 years and was the official clothing sponsor of a very young Carmina Villaroel in the ABS-CBN weekly comedy, “Palibhasa Lalake” in the ’90s.

The venue was filled 30 minutes before the show even started with fans of the brand, as well as endorsers and Manila’s fashionistas looking forward to seeing the new collections.

The show did not disappoint. Outfit after outfit emerged, belonging to 4 collections that Petit Monde will release in their racks soon: Mori, Saku, Urahara and Sekai. What struck me were the colors and edginess, from silhouette to design.

Petit Monde always had girly elements in its clothes (ruffles, lace). Its new collections take the woman it dresses a notch higher: fearless fashionista, career woman or artsy hippie.

Endorsers Maja Salvador, Ana Roces, Sunshine Cruz and Cheska Garcia walked the runway. Owners Carolyn Tan Chong and Dorothy Tan Tionson came on stage for the finale.

Here are picks from the show:
