Alexander Wang announces H&M collaboration
The fashion designer made the announcement via Instagram. What key pieces do you expect to see in this collaboration?

MANILA, Philippines – It’s official. Alexander Wang has announced his upcoming collection with Swedish retail giant H&M.

The designer announced the collaboration via two posts on his brand new Instagram account, @AlexanderWangNY, using the hashtag #ALEXANDERWANGxHM.

The accompanying Instavideo revealed a countdown clock with the numbers 11:06 on it – likely meaning that the collection would be available in November this year.

A second Instavideo revealed an ongoing event at this year’s Coachella music festival.

Last year, fans got themselves into a tizzy over the Isabel Marant H&M collection, which showed off a variety of relaxed casual wear, including Marant’s signature outerwear and sweaters.

Alexander is also the Creative Director of luxury brand Balenciaga. He is widely credited for the brand’s revamped resurgence in 2013, with a focus on sports-luxe, structured looks that continue to retain femininity at the core.

Previously, Alexander also won the 2008 Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Vogue Fashion Fund Award, a key turning point in his career.

What key pieces do you think we’ll see in his H&M collection? We’re guessing tailored blazers, perhaps an original take on a basic tank or t-shirt, or perhaps (we can only wish) a different version of his fantastic “Parental Advisory” sweater?

H&M will be opening in Manila sometime this year, but it’s still unknown whether the Manila store will carry this collection.

Which other designer would you like to see do an H&M collaboration? Let us know in the comments below. – Rappler.com
