MANILA, Philippines – It was a night to remember – dreams fulfilled, dreams not quite realized, and in between, song, dance, laughter, and of course, drama.

Hosts Anne Curtis and Xian Lim went through a series of costume changes, and like the queens onstage, they were dressed like royalty, in their formal best. 

Former queens Shamcey Supsup, Venus Raj, and Janine Tugonon also took part in hosting duties. 

The evening started off with a group production number with the ladies in twofer dresses (patterned bodice, with a bright mullet skirt in bright shades like tuquoise, pink, orange, and red). 

Special awards were handed out to lucky winners, but all eyes were on the top 15 ladies at the question-and-answer portion. Though a few were visibly nervous, most carried themselves well. 

Notably, MJ Lastimosa, later crowned Bb Pilipinas – Universe, pondered judge and reigning Ms Universe 2013 Gabriela Isler’s question on the greatest advantage of being a woman. “It is being able to compose ourselves, just like here, we’re standing in front of thousands of people not knowing if they will cheer for us… we compose ourselves and show the beauty within us,” said MJ. 

Prominent pop star Emin also flew in to perform on coronation night.
