MANILA, Philippines – After an exciting Miss Universe 2015 coronation night, second runner-up, Miss USA Olivia Jordan, posted a message on Instagram about the winners announcement mix-up.

In her post, Olivia acknowledged both Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez and Miss Philippines – now Miss Universe – Pia Wurtzbach, saying that both of them deserved to win the crown.

I was blessed to stand in the top 3 on this stage with TWO deserving winners.It was the most bizarre and confusing of circumstances for the final two. I think everyone in the room was at a loss for how to react as the situation played out in real time. Both women were worthy of the crown. I’m honored that I got to stand beside them and devastated for each of them- @piawurtzbach that her moment was tainted by controversy and most of all for @gutierrezary having her dream ripped away from her in an instant.I know both women have an incredible year ahead of them where they will embrace every opportunity that comes out of this. And I want to send some love to @iamsteveharveytv in a sea of hate. He made an honest mistake that he has owned up to and apologized for. We are all perfectly imperfect as humans and mistakes happen. That Sunday night, December 20, after Olivia was announced second runner-up, host Steve Harvey announced the wrong Miss Universe winner. He first said that Ariadna won. After Ariadna was crowned, he apologized, and said that Pia was actually Miss Universe 2015.

Miss Universe 2014 Paulina Vega then took the crown from Ariadna and passed it on to Pia.

“Both women were worthy of the crown,” continued Olivia in her post. “I’m honored that I got to stand beside them and devastated for each of them – Pia Wurtzbach, that her moment was tainted by controversy, and most of all for Ariadna Gutierrez, having her dream ripped away from her in an instant.”

She expressed confidence that both women will move past the negativity of the incident: “I know both women have an incredible year ahead of them where they will embrace every opportunity that comes out of this.”

Olivia also acknowledged Steve, who has since apologized on social media for his mistake. Many social media users criticized the host immediately after the incident, saying “he had one job.”

On Steve, Olivia said, “And I want to send some love to Steve Harvey in a sea of hate. He made an honest mistake that he has owned up to and apologized for. We are all perfectly imperfect as humans and mistakes happen. Let’s please spread love and positivity!”

In the comments section of her post, many Filipinos sent their love to her and thanked her for supporting Pia.

Later, Olivia posted a lighter photo – an Oprah meme saying “Everyone is Miss Universe,” captioned, “Next year, let’s avoid the drama – everyone wins!”
