MANILA, Philippines – Amazon announced Thursday May 23, that pre-orders were now open for the Kindle Fire HD and Kindle Fire HD 8.9″ for customers in over 170 countries around the world.

The tablets will begin shipping on June 13, with the Kindle Fire HD 8.9” selling for US$284 and the Kindle Fire HD 7” going for US$214.

While the HD versions of the Kindle Fire originally came out in November 2012, it has to be noted that the pre-orders have a slightly higher price point, as the US Kindle Fire HD prices start at $269.

The Kindle Fire HD 8.9″ sports an 8.9-inch LCD screen with a 1920×1200 display, supporting video up to 1080p HD. It runs on a dual-core, 1.5GHz processor and supplies up to 10 hours of continuous use. – Rappler.com
