MANILA, Philippines – Samsung is teasing a number of devices for consumers around the world, beginning with an announcement for some new devices in London and a notice for the release of some new Galaxy handset types in Asia.

Samsung announced in a press release that it would unveil some new technology on June 20. The teaser announcement on Samsung’s website mentions Earls Court 2 as the venue, with Galaxy and ATIV specific announcements slated for the date, leading to the possibility of a formal reveal of a Galaxy S IV Mini.

Samsung will also livestream the proceedings through YouTube through the Samsung Mobile YouTube page.

CNET also received word of the impending release of Samsung’s Galaxy Mega handset in select Asian countries.

CNET reports two sizes for the Galaxy Mega. While the 5.8 inch and 6.3 inch Mega units both use dual-core processors, run on Android 4.2, sport an 8-megapixel camera, and take advantage of LTE connectivity, the 6.3 inch phone-tablet hybrid has a 1.7GHz clockspeed versus the smaller one’s 1.4GHz clockspeed. The two units will also have removable batteries.

An update to their report notes the release dates for the two devices, with the 6.3 inch Mega being available from mid to end June for US$570. The 5.8-inch Mega will come out in mid-June for people in Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam for US$460. – Rappler.com
