Boracay among Top 10 islands in Asia – TripAdvisor

MANILA, Philippines – Boracay is one of Asia’s best islands, according to TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice awards for Islands 2016. (READ: Boracay on my mind)

Among the 10 Asian islands on the list, Boracay, a famous tourist spot for its beaches and nightlife, ranked 7th.

TripAdvisor’s citation in a press release said, “Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and head to Yapak beach that provides a welcomed intimacy and seclusion, complete with little food outlets and spectacular view, perfect for a day of soaking up some glorious sunshine.”

“After a day of frolicking under the sun, travellers can unwind at the awardwinning Discovery Shores Boracay famed for its beautiful property and Filipino hospitality,” it continued.

First on the list is Bali, Indonesia, followed by Phuket, Thailand, and Ko Samui, Thailand.

TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice awards also ranked islands worldwide.

Number one on the worldwide list is Maui, Hawaii, followed by Santorini, Greece, and Jamaica.

The ranking of beaches on the list was determined by the quality and quantity of reviews and rankings for hotels, restaurants, and attractions on the islands, as well as traveler booking interest on TripAdvisor. These reviews and rankings were gathered over a 12-month period.
