#MayForever: Wedding bells ring for Filipino HONY couple
Here's proof that long distance relationships can work!

MANILA, Philippines – Is there a such thing as “forever” when it comes to relationships? Many Filipino netizens doubt this, judging by the popular hashtag #WalangForever (There’s no such thing as forever). But in the latest update to a story in popular Facebook page “Humans of New York” (HONY), a Filipino couple sought to prove that forever indeed exists.

Warren Villanueva, a Filipino based in New York, shared about a girl he met who returned to the Philippines. “One day I asked her out for a date at Central Park and when I first saw her face in broad daylight my world just stopped…Now I’m wondering when we will be together again.” The story has 11,000 shares to date.

They ended up seeing each other again. “Her last night in New York was one of the most significant milestones of our relationship,” he told Rappler back in May 2014. “That was the night we both finally opened up about how we feel for each other and at the same time I chased her all the way to the airport to let her know how special she is,” he said.

“The courtship continued when she returned home,” he added. They maintained their relationship through Viber and text, before it evolved into something “more romantic.”

Janina said “it was an easy and quick process” for her. “There was no time to be pakipot (hard to get).”

Despite the difficulties of a long distance relationship, the couple survived it. They’d gotten engaged – and now – they’re married!

“I am still dazed and overly happy with the beautiful wedding that we had last week,” the new Mrs Villaneuva said on her blog. “I cannot remember the last time I have been utterly lost for words. I also cannot remember the last time I got so drunk!” she added.

Warren previously said that after they get married, he would not do a long distance relationship again: “Would I ever live in different places again? Hell noooo! Well actually, it depends on our jobs but if that happens: only for a couple of days.”

Filipinos around the world are hopeful that this is just the beginning of their “forever” story.
