MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Accessible Deaf Services, Inc. (PADS) headed by its co-founder and executive director John Paul Ecarma Maunes, together with members of the JCI Metro Cebu Uptown signed a memorandum of understanding to partner together in the implementation of a livelihood project for persons with disability in the 5 barangays of the municipality of San Remegio, Northern Cebu. 

This project is part of the Post-Yolanda (Haiyan) rehabilitation efforts of PADS (formerly GVSP) to provide small scale micro enterprise to PWD typhoon survivors and develop entrepreneural skills and attitudes of the local PWD organizations.

JCI Metro Cebu Uptown, led by past president Ray Godilano, will pool resource persons from its members and from government agencies to train the PWD partners in basic accounting, business management and social enterprise. Both PADS and  JCI will be providing mentoring sessions and project monitoring to the selected PWD organizations in a span of a year.

The empowerment and capacity building training workshop will be conducted on July 17-19, 2015 at the community of San Remegio, Cebu. After the series of trainings the selected PWD organization will be recieving a small grant award as start up capital for their proposed business enterprise.
