Water levels in La Mesa, 4 other Luzon dams recede

MANILA, Philippines – The water level in 5 major reservoirs in Luzon, including the La Mesa Dam, has receded slightly, the state weather bureau Pagasa reported Tuesday afternoon, August 7.

As of 4 p.m., water levels at the reservoirs of Ipo, La Mesa, San Roque, Binga, and Caliraya dams have gone down compared to water levels from 6 am.

For La Mesa Dam, the Reservoir Water Level (RWL) recorded as of 4 p.m. was at 80.50 m, down by 0.04 m from the 6 am reading (80.54 m).

However, the water level in the La Mesa reservoir is still above the Normal High Water Level (NHWL), which is 80.15 m.

Here are the latest RWL data in meters, and their deviation from their NHWLs:

• Angat Dam: 205.80 m, up from 203.92 m (NHWL 210.00 m)
• Ipo Dam: 100.89 m, down from 101.10 m (NHWL 100.80 m)
• Ambuklao Dam: 751.92 m, up from 751.72 (NHWL 752.00 m)
• Binga Dam: 574.02 m, down from 574.32 m (NHWL 575.00 m)
• San Roque Dam: 282.93 m, down from 283.36 m (NHWL 280.00 m)
• Pantabangan Dam: 208.07 m, up from 207.95 m (NHWL 221.00 m)
• Magat Dam: 191.79 m, up from 191.42 m (NHWL 190.00 m)
• Caliraya Dam: 287.13 m, down from 287.27 m (NHWL 288.00 m)
