Farm workers nabbed for killing American boss, Filipino wife
The workers do not resist arrest and admit they killed Kevin and Lolly Fleischauer at the couple's residence in Murcia town, Negros Occidental, say authorities

NEGROS OCCIDENTAL, Philippines – Authorities in Sagay City have arrested the alleged killers of an American and his Filipino wife whose  remains were discovered in a well near their home in Murcia town.

Police arrested suspects Randy Nunez, 25; Raymart Medel, 18, and his 17-year-old brother; and Randy Perez,19 – the first 3 on Monday night,  August 17, and the last on Tuesday morning, August 18.

Chief Inspector Eduardo Corpuz, Sagay City police chief, said the suspects admitted that they killed their employers – Kevin Fleischauer, 58 and his wife, Lolly, 60 – at the couple’s residence in Murcia town on August 4.

Corpuz said there was “no resistance from the suspects because they were caught by surprise.”

Authorities recovered from the suspects P15,000 cash,  US dollars amounting to $461, assorted jewelry, two laptops, 5 cellphones, an MP3 player, a 9mm Parabellum pistol with one magazine and 7 live ammunitions, a wallet, a cellphone charger, and an electric grinder.

Corpuz said the help of the community led to the arrest of the suspects. “We received information that all of the suspects are from Sagay. We coordinated with the Murcia police for the hot pursuit operation.”

Upon interrogation, the suspects reportedly told authorities that they earned very little while working for the couple, who ran a farm.

The police are preparing robbery with homicide charges against the 4 suspects, who are now in the custody of Murcia police.

Missing

Senior Inspector Lawrence Gerald Bathan, town police chief, said authorities went to the couple’s residence on Sunday after the Open Door Baptist Church, led by Pastor Nelson Cunanap, reported that the couple had been missing for a week.

On Monday morning, August 17, police first discovered the decomposing body of Kevin in the 20-feet deep well, which was 30 meters away from their residence. They were reportedly led there by the foul odor from the well.

Lolly’s body was retrieved from the same spot in the afternoon of the same day.

The suspects said they killed the couple on August 4.

Bathan said the main door of the house was damaged while the bedroom door was ajar. The couple’s car remained in the garage.

Kevin is from Minnesota in the United States, and Lolly, from Hinigaran town. – Rappler.com
