MANILA, Philippines – Fifteen individuals and 4 groups were recognized on Monday, December 19, for their outstanding work in public service.

“They serve as catalysts for positive change and sources of inspiration in the Philippine bureaucracy,” added Alicia dela Rosa-Bala, chairperson of the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

Recipients of the 2016 Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award are:

  • Dr. Jose L. Bacusmo, professor, Visayas State University
  • Dr. Mario V. Capanzana, director of the Food and Nutrition Research Institute
  • Aida L. Maniego, teacher at Malita South District, Department of Education – Division of Davao del Sur
  • Master Sergeant Perfecto L. Perez, 205th Tactical Helicopter Wing, Philippine Air Force
  • Bayawan City Local Flood Early Warning and Rescue Team, Bayawan City, Negros Oriental
  • The Verdant Movers, Bala Elementary School, Department of Education – Division of Davao del Sur
