Perez: 'The Taiwanese are highly emotional and... the media in Taiwan is heating things up so tempers are running high'
MANILA, Philippines - Former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on Wednesday, December 5 asked the Sandiganbayan for a Christmas furlough.
Arroyo, through her lawyers, asked the anti-graft court to allow her to go home to Lubao, Pampanga, to spend Christmas and New Year with her family from December 21 to January 1.
In October, the court allowed the Pampanga representative to visit the graves of her parents, former President Diosdado Macapagal and former first lady Eva Macapagal, for a maximum of 6 hours on November 1.
However, the said trip did not push through because she was "not feeling well."
She is currently under hospital arrest on plunder charges. - Rappler.com
